Catch Me If You Can began its run this week at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. Beginning on November 6th, the play will be gracing the main stage for Broadway shows in Raleigh through the 11th.
Based on the hit film directed by Steven Spielberg, Catch Me If You Can tells the story of Frank Abagnale, Jr., a young con artist who passed himself off as a doctor, a lawyer, and a jet pilot before he had hit the age of 21. With FBI agent Carl Hanratty on the trail, the production sets us in the middle of a jet-setting, sixties-style cat-and-mouse chase. In the end, unexpected friendships and romance blossom out of the hilarious misadventure that is Frank’s life.
As I mentioned, this production will run through the 11th, but the NC Theatre and Broadway Series South has delivered a very special surprise for audience members on Thursday the 8th. The real Frank Abagnale, Jr. will host an exclusive post-show Q&A to discuss his amazing true story with audience members.
Curtain time is 7:30, with the Q&A starting directly afterward at 10. Tickets are still available, but going fast.
