City Cemetery Reopens After Tornado Damage Cleanup

We haven't heard an official word from the City of Raleigh yet, but it looks like the doors to City Cemetery are back open again to the public after being closed for nine months.

A tornado tore through Downtown Raleigh in April, causing damage in multiple neighborhoods, parks and cemeteries. Oakwood Cemetery's damage was minimal and essentially never closed to visitors. But, the other three historical cemeteries, Mt. Hope, O'Rorke and City Cemetery, had damage that caused the grounds to be closed to the public.

The City of Raleigh finally got the cleanup going in November and both Mt. Hope and O'Rorke reopened a few weeks ago
