One of my favorite parts of the addition of new venues like Kings Barcade, the Raleigh Amphitheatre and Southland Ballroom (where?) in the Downtown Raleigh area, is the fact that more electronic musicians are popping through town. Electronic music, slowly gaining its grip on popular music, has been slow to stick in the Raleigh area, despite past shows in the area at Berkeley and other venues. Luckily, with Moog and Hopscotch, more electronic artists see North Carolina and Raleigh as a destination.
Eliot Lipp, one of my personal favorite electo artists, has announced a show at Southland Ballroom, just off Glenwood South, in November. Lipp got a lot of recognition for his 2008 album, The Outside, which stands up against almost any dance album made since. His past few albums are just as energetic and full of dance floor gems so this show at Southland should be a great nice worth your time and 10 bucks.
