New Raleigh Presents Jack the Radio Album Release Party at Big Boss Brewery

If you've lived in the Downtown Raleigh area over the past few years, you'd be hard to miss twang garage rockers Jack the Radio on stage live. The band has been at 2010 Cooke Street Carnival, 2011 Hopscotch Music Festival, DejaFest, jammed at almost every indoor music venue in town and been featured on Anthony Bourdain's TV Show. Jack the Radio has developed a loyal following of locals with a beautiful graphics style, quality tunes and an abundance of live shows.

Jack the Radio returns on May 15th with their second full length album, Low Country. The sophomore album follows close in the footsteps of their debut album, Pretty Money, which was released almost exactly a year ago. Low Country sees the band branching out into more solidly constructed tunes. There are more layers of instruments and vocals on Low Country, as well as a large horn presence.

New Raleigh has teamed with Big Boss Brewery and Jack the Radio to host the Low Country album release party next Saturday, May 12th from 3pm - 5pm, after the brewery tour (with Jack the Radio starting at 3:30pm). The band will play a handful of songs, have all of the merchandise for sale (including 130 hand printed posters designed by guitarist George Hage, CDs, shirts, kids onesies and a 7" vinyl).

The band made a few videos, including their first proper music video for the first single off of Low Country, the catchy Carolina Mud. As well, below you can check out a Journey to Low Country video and see the band screen printing the posters.

You can actually pick up copies of Low Country at Schoolkids Records now, or you could come out next Saturday and hear some live tunes and grab the album then.
