4th Annual Downtown Appetite for Art

The 4th Annual Downtown Appetite for Art charity event for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County is this Saturday Evening (The 26th at 7:00 PM).  The event is held at the Marbles Kid’s Museum (formerly Exploris) at Hargett and Blount.

This year’s event is dedicated in memory of Damian Dunn, 14, a member of the Washington Elementary Boys and Girls Club, who was fatally wounded in recent shooting.  Presented by the Historic Glenwood Brooklyn Neighborhood Association, the proceeds have garnered attention for exciting new artists and fully funded the arts program for the Wake County Boys and Girls Clubs for the past 3 years.

Along with being a far reaching charity event, this is also a ‘creative black tie’ shindig with food from upscale restaurants (Sullivan’s, Mura, Firebirds, Urbana Catering, et al.), live music (Arrogance and Mietek Glinkowsky Jazz Ensemble), and a spectacular art display.  Guests also have a chance to take in some of Downtown Raleigh’s modern architecture in the space designed by Clearscapes.

Advanced tickets are available for $50.00.  VIP room tickets are an additional $50.00 (which include additional drinks, food, and other exclusive features).  VIP space is limited of course. Take a peep eye at the event site:  DA4A.net

There, you can donate (funds, merchandise, artwork), bid online, view the artwork, and purchase your advanced tickets. In one evening, do some business networking, have a great time, and give back to the community.
