We all know Friday the 13th is a bad day for skinny dipping in the lake, but in Raleigh, Jason is the least of worries. Two swimming holes, Beaverdam and Holly Point, at Falls Lake Recreation Area were closed yesterday due to high levels of bacteria. The bacteria found in human and animal feces is called Enterococcus. Further samples are being examined today by the Wake Co. Health Department. The two swimming areas will remain closed until two consecutive samples are dubbed clean in a 24 hour period. The Rollingview access and Sandling Beach remain open, should you desire to risk falling victim to old horror movie cliches.
