On Saturday, June 19th The Borough on Morgan Street will open up early at 1pm serving food and beverages (very rare for the restaurant/bar). The reason? The Borough’s Second Annual Pinecar Classic. Races start at 2pm.  There will be a cap of participants at 24. Anyone who wants to enter will be able to sign up online and/or at the bar and get kits at the bar. The entry fee is $20 and includes a car building kit. A portion of the proceeds and ticket sales go to the Wake Co. SPCA.

Judging by last year’s competition, you are likely to see a lot of great designs out this year. Can the defending champ (and best in show) become repeat winners? We will see in just over a week.

Registration info can be found here and on the Facebook Page. Entry guidelines and rules are below.

Food, drink and Pinewood Derby races.  That is an excellent combination. The Borough’s Second Annual Pinecar Classic sound like a lot of fun.  Sounds like an event for the kids that never grew up… sounds like me. I still love to race those little wood cars. I wish I could be there.  Good luck!
