Boylan Bridge Brewpub Watch: More Progress

The Boylan Bridge Brewpub has posted more information and photos on their progress. Moving at a snail’s pace, the tortoise just may beat the hare across Boylan Bridge. The saga continues.

Check out the photo gallery for progress shots of the interior and exterior. I wonder how many restaurants have opened since Leager first announced he was opening the brewpub years ago.

To keep everyone updated with our progress we have added new photos to the gallery page, take a look. Activating the brewery, installing custom millwork, and assembling the restaurant management team is time consuming and contributes to an opening date later than expected. However, we are pleased with the quality environment the Bridge is beginning to portray and hopeful our customers will appreciate the extra effort.

This place better be phenomenal by the time they actually open in another couple years.

holy god… continents move faster than the boylan street pub.

Let’s be real.  They’ve run out of money, and are trying to save face until the markets thaw.

^unless you have 1st hand info to the contrary…i don’t think thats the case at all

has it been a sluggish process?  yes
    is the economy helping? no

but to say they are out of money and just stalling is a bit of a stretch unless you know something the rest of us don’t

They aren’t in a hurry because the building is theirs to begin with.  They aren’t having to deal with rent issues, etc.  They only have to start paying rent down the road when they actually open the pub (pub business splits from furniture business below).  So they really have no incentive to rush things.

General gist I get from reading their business plan document sometime earlier this year.

The fact that there are signs posted on the exterior of the building advertising “ownership shares” for sale does suggest a lack of capital.  And even if they aren’t paying rent, why would you build a restaurant this slowly if you had the cash to go ahead and finish and start making money?

Not that they are to be attacked for running out of money - everyone’s doing it!

actually I’ve heard from some Leager family members that the delay was initially caused by the owner’s divorce, but one can only speculate as to the cash flow at this point. I would imagine it would be particularly hard to find new investors given the amount of time that has already passed…

“we are pleased with the quality environment the Bridge is beginning to portray”

Yes, I too am pleased by the quality environment portrayed.

Perhaps they should sell postcards to raise money!

    And about that parking situation…
