What an interesting line-up this is. From a local Michael Jackson cover band, to one of the best hip hop acts from the Triangle to the 90s crooners Boys II Men. Now that New Kids on the Block are reuniting, I guess its time for the rest of the boy bands from the past 20 years to attempt to make more money off songs that teenagers enjoyed at skating rinks across the country. Motown Philly Back Again! Maybe Kris Kross and Another Bad Creation will be next.
From the looks of things, one of the members of Boyz II Men (man that name and spelling get me every time) has left the group for his own solo career. Therefore, they will be a trio, instead of a quartet. Who would have known, but they have released albums continually since the 90s and plan on releasing their 10th album in 2009.
I say go for Who’s Bad and Little Brother, both of which are worth the money….not sure what to say about the Boyz II Men. And are they men finally or still boyz?
The show is sponsored by Lincoln Theatre and will be at Lee Field on the NC State campus.

It’s good to see real singers can still have the chance to put on a show! Boyz II Men became a trio a few years ago when Michael “Bass” McCary left the group due to health problems; he suffers from scoliosis.
While the group doesn’t get the mainstream radio play that they used to 15 or so years ago, they are still putting out great music. Their last two albums have been covers of classic R&B;cuts from the days when music truly was music. For those out there who want to see true artists perform and put on a good show, Boyz II Men is defintely worth your time and money. I saw them perform a number of times during their heyday as well as since they have been reduced to a trio and they still put on a great show! The name is Boyz II Men but they are definitely all grown up now.
