bu•ku Opening Monday (Rumor)
Update: bu•ku is now open in Downtown Raleigh.
We hear (unconfirmed, but from a good source) mumblings that bu•ku (which is taking the place of Fins in Downtown Raleigh) hopes to start serving food on Monday. Their health inspection has been complete, employees hired and trained and a handful of interior renovations done, including some ceiling screen printing by local artist Adam Peele.
We look forward to trying the new cuisine soon and hope that this Monday lunch date is true. If not, we’ll update you on any news we hear.

Do you think they’ll put a sign up? I think Fins really suffered because you couldn’t really tell anything was there unless you looked closely.

I know the day they open, im there. I’ll miss fins, but hopefully this place will be just as good (and a lil bit cheaper). If thats the case, I will be here weekly.

They are opening on Wednesday, 2/3 on a reservation basis only so no walk-ins for a week. Smart idea to give them control over capacity while they work out kinks for a week.

My wife popped in and picked up a menu earlier today. It looks really good. Hot pots, sambals, chutneys, sashimi, korean bbq…. can’t wait to try it.
