We have followed the progress of the Raleigh Contemporary Art Museum for years now, from its original lofty beehive proposal that included apartments to the practical form that the museum is finally taking.
Staff will be working in the newly redesigned space before the end of the year. They are actively preparing for their grand opening on April 30th.
In these final days of 2010, you have the unique opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of our cultural foundation downtown. Institutions like CAM help balance the heavy commercial influence brought by the convention center and the ampitheater with a voice that comes from a place of pure expression. New Raleigh encourages you to give what you can to CAM as we believe it is one of the most important additions to our downtown in the last decade.

Not gonna lie; this looks better than the concept images.
I agree, this is looking better than what I had initially thought.
This will do a lot for the warehouse district. I think they need 5-6 more retail outfits like Raleigh Denim to the area, but CAM may just be the tipping point for more development/traffic/growth in the WD.
Really enjoying driving by to see the progress! I agree that this should only improve what others have already been contributing to the Warehouse District.
Wheres Dillon? and where did all his supplies go?
