A local grassroots effort prior to the election:
If you haven’t heard, Mary Ann Baldwin recently had a fundraiser hosted by Elizabeth Dole’s Treasurer (Brent Barringer). Folks, he raises money to defeat Democrats. He’s supporting Mary Ann Baldwin because she is bought and paid for by the real estate and development industries. Unfortunately, the other main Dem candidate, Paul Anderson, was also listed on the invitation. The stakes are high. We need 25% of the vote on Oct. 9th to avoid a runoff.
We also need Roger Koopman and Nancy McFarlane to win their respective district races in order to have the PEOPLE run Raleigh rather than developers. We can’t outspend big real estate, but we can outwork them.
This Saturday (9/22), I’ll be gathering a group at the Falls Tailrace fishing/picnic Area at the intersection of Falls of the Neuse Rd and Fonville Rd. to canvass Wakefield for Russ, and since it’s district B, we’ll also be handing out literature for Roger Koopman. Don’t think you will be entering enemy territory because Wakefield. They are receptive to Russ, Roger, and Nancy’s message regarding growth and keeping our property tax low.
Let me know if you can make it and PLEASE pass this email along to friends who can join us. There are only three more Saturdays before the election!
The Falls Tailrace fishing/picnic area is just past Paddle Creek (kayak rental place) on your left hand side after you pass Wake Med NORTH on Falls of the Neuse. We will meet at the picnic tables at 10:30am to distribute walk lists and literature.
Best Regards,
