Carolina RailHawks Having Open Tryouts in December

The Carolina Railhawks had a great season this past year, finishing second in their league. The team plays out at the SAS fields and will be having open tryouts on December 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will costs $75 to tryout and two players will be chosen to head to Railhawks training camp in the Spring of 2010.

    The question now is, what league will the Railhawks actually be playing in, if any?

    Very true, Jonathan.  I think the USL thing will work itself out though.

    The new head of USL seems intent on forcing out the Canadian clubs for showing sympathy toward the TOA teams.  Adding those two clubs would make it relatively simple to form a new FIFA-sanctioned league.

    RAILHAWKS ANNOUNCE NEW LEAGUE SET TO BEGIN PLAY IN 2010

    Owners of the Atlanta Silverbacks, Carolina RailHawks, Miami FC, Minnesota Thunder, Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps, formerly of USL-1, together with St. Louis Soccer United today announced that they have formed a new professional soccer league to play in the United States and Canada beginning in April 2010.

    The team owners yesterday submitted an application for sanctioning of the new league as a Division II Men’s Outdoor Professional League by the United States Soccer Federation.
