Cats Take Over Legislature and SPCA Full

WUNC’s Laura Leslie weaves Wake County SPCA animal shelter overcrowding with the story of the “Capital Kittens” - stray cats that have been living in the landscaping around legislative building in downtown Raleigh.  The kittens have been named after government terms like “Budget,” “Bill” and “Speaker.”  The kittens are being adopted by staff and visitors including lobbyist Patrick Buffkin.

The SPCA has halved the adoption fee for cats for the first time ever in the face of overcrowding.
