The Cherry Bounce Stage at the Raleigh Wide Open Festival next weekend has gathered steam very quickly. More and more bands have been added and now the flyer confirms that Hargett Street will be filled with Rock N Roll all day long, Friday and Saturday.
There’s a big difference between the Deep South sponsored stage and Cherry Bounce…even the name is local. Arrested Development Vs. Dexter Romweber and Annuals (not The Annuals like the flyer states)? I say choose the Triangle over Tennessee then run and catch a couple of songs by legendary Chuck Berry.
Islands vs. Soul Asylum and Lou Gramm? Would you really pass up a band with a song called “Don’t Call Me Whitney, Bobby”? Skip Soul Asylum (a band that has one album in the past ten years) and libel to be tipsy Lou Gramm (who hasn’t had an album since….2002?) for the quirky syth-rocking Islands….
