David Sedaris, Raleigh native and author of the bestsellers Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, and regular National Public Radio contributor will perform a night of engaging recollections and all-new readings at the Memorial Auditorium on Saturday, October 9th at 8pm.
Sedaris will be celebrating the release of his new title, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary, a book of “acerbic, outrageously funny fables, featuring animals with unmistakably human failings”, which will arrive in bookstores on October 5, 2010.
Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, July 23rd at 10am and prices range from $42.50 - $55.00. Tickets will be available at the Progress Energy Center Box Office, by phone at 800-745-3000, or online at Ticketmaster.com. More info on the event here.

David Sedaris Memorial Auditorium
does the price include a copy of the book?
I’ve seen him speak before in Wilmington and it’s a really entertaining night..but those ticket prices are steep and not worth it unless you are a huge fan. Now if Amy was there also…you could charge me $100.

David Sedaris quit smoking some time ago.
That looks like a really old photo. Sedaris looks much different now!
Micah et al,
That was one of the press photos from his last book Engulfed in Flames (hence the added glamour), but I’ve replaced it with a boring ‘ole straight ahead….
