Yes you read that right.  Weezer, Ryan Adams and Death Cab for Cutie are on the list to play Deep South’s Downtown Live Concert Series in 2009. Too bad that list is actually a survey of who you would LIKE to play in Moore Square. While the above names aren’t the best bands in today’s music industry, they do represent (somewhat) the cream of the crop of the survey. The assumption is Deep South’s new hand-in-hand agreement with Live Nation could lure these larger names to the capital city.

The survey is full of washed up names, but I guess Snow Patrol, Robert Earl Keen, G Love or Jet wouldn’t be as bad as some of the others. Maybe Downtown Live has the right idea and will start to bring in some current bands. You can even suggest a band, maybe Kriss Kross?

Take the survey here.

Weezer might not get a lot of airplay now, but what respectable band does?

Bring ‘em on. Weezer would rock!

Weezer would be nice, but didn’t they headline the RBC Center on their last tour. How steep has their price dropped? Did they have that much cash tied up in oil futures and the dow?

Can’t they get Cheap Trick? They played the Cradle and Ribfest. They could have Robert Romanus introduce ‘em wearing his Damone outfit. “Can you honestly tell me you forgot? Forgot the magnetism of Robin Zander, or the charisma of Rick Nielsen?”

    Cheap Trick in ‘09!

Weezer just played Madison Square Garden. What are the odds they’ll go from the Garden to Moore Square?

no way they could get bands like that here.  not for another 5 to 10 years.  they are pulling in mid 90’s rock band wash ups.
