Schoolkids Records on Hillsborough Street will host blog favorites Deer Tick (from Providence, Rhode Island) October 19th at 3 PM. They play Local 506 in Chapel Hill that evening. If you don’t know Deer Tick, ask one of the Raleigh Everymen hanging around downtown. I’m sure one of them will know. Or ask Grayson Currin over at the Indy. I hear he’s a big fan.
Deer Tick made a splash on the blogs with their freshman album War Elephant which combines blues, country/folk, and a little of grunge influence. Their sophmore album Born on Flag Day came out on June 23, 2009 (a week after flag day)
Expect the store to be packed.

Listening to this band is like taking a Sunday afternoon nap on a sea of failure. Srsly. I’ve got no less than four copies of this (Flag Day) album. If you want one, holl(a/er).
