2008 Depot Fest Concert Series

Finally, something good is happening with the Raleigh Train Depot. Last year, several businesses there closed, leaving Raleigh residents to anticipate what would occupy this crucial Warehouse District location. Recently, Jibarra announced they will be relocating to this area.

On Thursdays this summer and fall, Mosquito, Deep South, and Ess Lounge are hosting a concert series in our favorite underutilized cobblestone area of downtown.

Schedule:

August 14th: Parmalee & EFFIGY
August 28th: 80Z ENUFF
September 11: Crush
September 25th: The Coconut Groove Band
October 9th: (to be determined)
October 23: The Embers

I guess I could wander away from Buckhead for a song or two… MOST definitely for Parmalee’s “Carolina”.

We are the booking agent for TAKE 5, a touring band of five extremely talented men.  See that you have an open slot for October 9th.  Would like to talk with you about bringing the band down.

    Dear Lynda,

Please contact the good folks at Deep South, Ess, or Mosquito… not the readers of New Raleigh.

    Thanks,

I think Coconut Groove Band got moved to this week… but I never know for sure anymore.

Thanks for the info Lisa. What kind of music do they play? I assume it is outside-what do they do if it rains? (50% chance Thurs) Is there a number we could call to find out if it is on?

I can only assume this link (http://www.cgb1.com/) is the band… you can check them out there.

Also, I would suggest calling Ess or Deep South to confirm (band schedule and weather plans) - Ess is 919-829-5482, Deep South the Bar is 919.833.1255, Deep South HQ office is 919.844.1515.
