Designers Downtown Market Saturday

Ornamentea and The Purple Armchair will host the Designer’s Downtown Market Saturday September 13th from 9am-3pm. This is a great chance to pick up some local goods at great prices.

On Saturday, September 13, close to 50 crafters, designers and artists once again converge in the parking lots of Ornamatea and Purple Armchair at the 500 – 600 block of N. West Streets.  These talented folks are part of a growing trend towards hands-on, hand-made and handcrafted goods.  Many of these vendors have homegrown boutiques featured at http://www.Etsy.com and meet at places like the Scrap Exchange to share ideas and offer support for each other.  They come together again at the 12th installment of the Designers Downtown Market to offer a local shopping experience that happens just five times a year.

Since 2005, Mary Michele Little has organized this event, which began during her career as a designer as a way to sell excess fabric.  What began as a “crafter’s flea market” has evolved into the Designers Downtown Market - one of the best local shopping markets in the area.

Come 9am on Saturday, September 13 the parking lots of Ornamentea and the Purple Armchair at the corner of N. West St and Johnson St will once again be transformed into a shopper’s delight. With close to 50 vendors from Raleigh and beyond, the Designers’ Downtown Market has become a sought–after venue for jewelry, baby & body products, wearable art, clothing, hand-blown glass, beads, felted items, pottery and dare we say…even more!

At the parking lot of Ornamentea and The Purple Armchair at 509 & 600 N. West Street, Downtown Raleigh.
