One thing I have been very impressed with over the past year is the amount of electronic music that has hit Raleigh. In the six years I have lived here, I have mostly had to travel out of the city limits (to Durham or Chapel Hill) to catch some of the industry's most interesting electronic musical acts. This is not the case now. While our sister cities to the West continue to bring in some great electonic music, Raleigh has started to pack venues with bands that make you dance and move. The DJ scene in downtown continues to expand as well.
The leading forces behind this influx of beats have been Kings Barcade, the Hopscotch crew, Discovery, Denmark Records and, of course, the guys from DiggUp Tapes. The latest show presented by DiggUp Tapes will be a wild night of electronic music tomorrow night at Slim's on Wilmington Street.
To read the names of the bands (Pressed And // Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! // It Is Rain In My Face) playing the DiggUp Tapes show tomorrow might be a bit of a confusing task, but listening to their jams, this show is sure to be a wild night of grooving in the tiny venue that is Slim's. There something equally weird and addictive about each band's music and we'd recommend this is what you should be doing Friday night.
Also, tonight over at the Varsity Theatre in Chapel Hill, you can check out the videos that local video artists have put together for Pressed And's EP Imbue Up. More info on that show here.
You can find the full information on the DiggUp Tapes show over at the Event's Facebook Page.

(Yes, rest in peace, Barbaro). Those left-wing NC bloggers seem to be an ufianr lot, basically. Now they’re hoping the story will just go away, because they’re too tied into the groups that now look so bad. But the Duke case is not going to go away quietly. It’s probably just beginning. Just wait until all of the NC prisoners convicted on DNA evidence start screaming for new trials.
