“The View” applauses Koopman’s grassroot effort, but the selfish fell for hotdog machines once and don’t plan on it again. There are multiple citations of Taliaferro’s pledges to help Kane and we have visual evidence of Kane’s willingness, along with every other developer, to help her. We can only imagine the massive reaction of JT’s campaign on Friday with PPP’s announcements of small local phone polls showing Koopman and Taliaferro tied with a large margin of error.

Ahh, Carter Wrenn and his cute little hot dog story. A version of this story more familiar to NC voters would be to smear the opponent late in the campaign for liking black people and supporting civil rights. This tactic was still in practice during the I Beverly Lake vs. Terry Sanford race and in every Jesse Helms campaign (although it was sometimes obscured in angry white guy code.) Mr. Wrenn would have intimate knowledge of this tactic, so why tell a whitewashed version? He must really, really like wieners.
Yeah sure JT opposes Kane suuure. From Kane’s wifey:

Subject: City Council Election
Making you aware that Tuesday (October 9th) is election day for Raleigh’s City Council. Please make sure you VOTE. Our city needs great leadership and its important that we are a participant in the process. Turnout is typically very low, and with with an uncontested Mayor’s race, it is expected we will see even less voters this year. Your vote will matter.
I am supporting two candidates for the At Large City Council seats (each voter can choose two):
Mary Ann Baldwin and Paul Anderson .
Please give them your consideration.
Although I do not live in the districts where there are two other city council races, I believe Jessie Talifaero (City Councilor running for re-election in District B) and Tommy Craven (City Councilor running for re-election in District A) provide very strong leadership for our community.
Helpful. I would like to thank the author for more information.
