Pothead Punks DOT on Hillsborough

This morning a DOT flashing sign on Hillsborough Street between Brooks Avenue and Dan Allen Drive instructed drivers to “SMOKE BUD.”  More than likely that another student has taken a cue from the Barrel Monster and found mischief amongst the rubble known as the Hillsborough expansion project.

This article originally pondered the origins of this prank and a new business’s opening having novel/coincidental timing.  New Raleigh never intended to implicate this business in any wrong doing or with the subject matter of this prank, and would like to assure readers that may have misinterpreted the original post of the businesses non-involvement in this event.

between the barrel monster and the road sign hooligans, we’ve got ourselves a pretty kickass little DOT art group in this city. too bad they will eventually be caught and treated like the al qaeda turrists they are!

if only theyd use their powers to eliminate universal healthcare and promote jesus in every pore of this town, then we would be out of debt and rolling in gold bullion, bitches!
why jump to conclusions? maybe philip morris and anheuser-busch are behind this?

I am starting to really love my city!

Not to overly nit-pick, but the NC DOT isn’t doing the Hillsborough Street project.  That is being done completely by the City of Raleigh.  So perhaps we should say “Pothead Punks City”?

OK, I’m done now…back to the silliness.  wink

The sign is still owned by DOT.

Someone needs to put up a message that reads:

    “BEAT THOSE COCKS!”

    and on the second page,

    “GO PACK!”
