Double Barrel Benefit #6 Lineup is Smokin’

Friday, February 6th, and Saturday, February 7th, are the dates for the 6th Annual WKNC Double Barrel Benefit. Previously at Kings Barcade and for the past two years at The Pour House, this is usually one of the best shows in the area.

Last year’s was fabulous, but this year’s will overcome that lineup very quickly. With nationally recognized bands like The Bowerbirds, Birds of Avalon and Polvo, along with a handful of very well known groups, DBB#6 will be a weekend that will hark back to the Ole’ Raleigh Rocking Days at Kings Barcade.  Maybe 2009 is the year Raleigh will get its music groove back. We’ll have Raleigh Undercover in a couple of weeks, Double Barrel Benefit and hopefully more fests in the spring and summer, as well as the new amphitheatre in front of the Convention Center.

Friday
Bowerbirds
Lost In The Trees
Schooner
Lonnie Walker

Saturday

Wow. That’s a lot of pull for a small place. I’m predicting a quick sell out on those tickets.

add to the list the return of the Love Hangover on 2/15 to the Pour House. now if only King’s would find a new home!

I’ve been looking forward to seeing Lost in the Trees. Their track “Fireplace” is stellar. As far as Lonnie Walker goes, I expect big things from this band. Awesome tunes. I wrote a review on their last Raleigh show. Tons of pics also: http://secretcarrboroninjapatrol.blogspot.com/2008/12/show-review-lonnie-walker.html

Also make sure to check out WKNC’s selection of cool t-shirts for sale, printed this year by Raleigh’s own Captive Collective. They are off the chizzain!
