This Saturday is the last event for the 2008 summer concert series entitled Downtown Live sponsored by the beer company and Deep South at Moore Square. But, don’t worry, the lineup for summer of 2009 has been announced and we’ll let the text speak for itself…thanks to Grayson and The Independent for sharing.

Will Hoge was hurt in a scooter accident tonight (Thursday August 21st). This article does have a funny note about Hoge, but it is all in good fun and thoughts go to Hoge and family for his quick recovery.
Why does Mudhoney & Nirvana have a line through it? I would LOVE to see Mudhoney! I didn’t think anyone remembered who they were…
archers of loaf on the same bill with smash mouth…..truly inspiring. i’ll be at the (web in) front for that one!
This is hilarious and very clever!
(PS - pls don’t tease about my beloved AOL reuniting!)
now I will finally have a chance to show off my “Stay Hungry-TS 4-ever” back tattoo!
I’m confused and somewhat missing the humor in the “parody”. I mean, I wouldn’t mind seeing half the bands they list. And my mother would certainly love a Lee Greenwood DVD Screening on July 4th! hehe
I thought the line-up this year was fairly well rounded.
I would kill to see Mudhoney!
I dont get making fun of Wes Borland, as he has gone on to be a GREAT musician outside of the WASTE that Limp Bizkit. For those of you who like hard rock with a indie/metal edge- check out Black Light Burns w/ Borland singing and guitar and Josh Freese/Danny Lohner on drums and bass. Wes is now also playing guitar for Manson.
OK Dave, get on here and explain. PLEASE!
Ahh HaHAhAhaAhhAhA!
Why doesn’t the INDY Weekly try to produce an “INDY Downtown Live” with Indy bands?? Oh thats right, nobody would care!
What is the point of this?
@ Johnny…
...because the INDY Weekly can’t remember where Raleigh is. *zing! ;^)
Is this legit? Because I would personally be all for some country acts and seeing Joe Diffie perform “John Deere Green” live!
AOL playing the gig sounds about as rich as the band “Sugar” playing 2008 Raleigh Wide Open Fest. Let’s hope this isn’t a 1980’s cover band named “Archers of Loaf”.
