Downtown Live, the free concert series held in Moore Square, has brought us a slew of washed up acts the past few years. Saturday, Raleigh will host The Wailers, who achieved their height of fame backing the late great Bob Marley. None-the-less, The Wailers carry a legacy, and they know it. Their website describes them as “the greatest living exponents of Jamaica’s reggae tradition,“ and truthfully, that is tough to dispute.
Saturday, May 31st schedule
Jive Mother Mary, a young rock band hailing from Burlington will kick things off at 3.
Raleigh rockers, Goner, play at 4.
You can mellow out at 5 to the subdued sounds of Brooklyn duo Pete and J.
Saunter, a whimsical local act, takes the stage at 6.
At 7, Braco, a NC based Latin rock group will warm up the crowd for the Wailers at 8.
