The Downtown Raleigh Alliance has updated their mobile phone web application to now include tracking for the R-Line circulator bus. This answers questions of why the Open Intelligence web based tracking map was shut down.
The DRA’s web app offers a simple interface for viewing each R-Line stop and includes a link to the R-Line map with visual representation of the current location of both circulator buses.
The following is the information we received from the Downtown Raleigh Alliance regarding their aptly timed mobile bus tracker:
We were pleased to offer the AVL Map and the projected real-time arrivals for the R-LINE circulator service. Through a special agreement with the City of Raleigh and their vendor, Digital Recorders, we were able obtain access and permission to incorporate real-time bus information in the context of DRA’s web and mobile marketing. The community received the technological upgrade enthusiastically and also shared their interest in a mobile version of the map, which launched today.
To access the mobile version visit www.YouRHere.com/mobile and click on the “R-LINE” tab. The stops are listed with real-time projections for the two key index points and there is an icon that links to the R-LINE map.

My BB shows the map, but the icons representing the bus locations are missing.
This (cr)app is not working. The map is tiny and the bus locations are off the map completely.
New Raleigh, why do continue to shill for DRA?
Works great on the 3gs. It was nice to not have to wait in the drizzle today.
