What is it?

It’s Bingo!

With Drag Queens!

In Raleigh!

Normally, the event is held in Durham but for September and October, it will be held in Raleigh.

September’s event is this Saturday, September 29th at 7PM at The Raleigh Little Theatre - Rose Garden Amphitheatre.

Normally, I would shy away from anything relating to the game of bingo. I was a child of a bingo-freak. Bingo, itself, has a cult following. If you think I’m crazy, then consider yourself lucky not to be born into this cult. The very sight of a bingo dobber gives me shivers (if you don’t know what a bingo dobber is, lucky you!).

There’s an old joke you may have heard (or not) that goes something like this:
“How do you make an old lady say the “F” word?”
How?
“Yell ‘Bingo’”.

It’s really not a joke in the bingo cult. They’ll utter more than the “F” word when someone wins.

But for drag bingo, I will go. I have gone two years in a row, during their Christmas event. Both times have been hilariously fun and it actually makes me believe that I may be able to overcome the trauma of growing up in a bingo-freak home.

Besides all the fun that can be had, they actually do give out great prizes for winning. But most of all, this event generates funds for the Alliance Aids Services - Carolina.

This was the greatest venue for this event. We walked by Saturday night and popped in for about 20 minutes of the show. You could hear it throughout the neighborhood for hours and the twilight and concrete exaggerated the colorful outfits and personalities that filled the space.

^ Yeah, I went and a couple of times one of the co-hosts expressed concerns that some of their loud, colorful jokes wouldn’t be appreciated among the neighbors.
Then a lady in the audience yelled “Some of us ARE the neighbors! You’re safe in this neighborhood!”

There will be another drag bingo event in Raleigh, if you missed this one. It will be October 27th and IN COSTUME!!! Should be a lot of fun. Come out, support the cause, support the event IN RALEIGH, have a couple of hot dogs with chili (they are the bomb) and have fun!

Hi Guys,

I own a shop called Champagne Tast Consignment.
When I had my shop in Virginia Beach I had many drag queen customers!
John Paul and I are trying to organize a private showing for Ya’ll at my store!

Right now I am loaded with large major bling jewelry! There are may pieces appropriate for the runway.

Please come any time that is convenient for you.

The private showing will probably be in March as per John Paul.
