Dudes all Hyped on Red Bull Jump off RBC Tower

Update: Jump is Canceled

The Red Bull Air Force base jumpers were supposed to bust Raleigh Wide Open with a leap off of RBC tower.  But Hurricane Hanna canceled those plans, so Thursday at 3pm we get to see Charles Bryan show his skills. While the jump is relatively short by comparison to some of the teams other events, it will be an exciting stunt, to build publicity for the relative shortness of our tallest tower.  The picture to the left shows a member of team Red Bull jumping off similarly sized building in Sarajevo.

    3 o’clock?  How am I going to get there at 3 o’clock, much less get the kids there to see it?

    Don’t look now, but people jumping off of bank buildings seems to be a little out of fashion these days.

    Today’s N&O said it was canceled because it would look bad for people to be jumping off bank buildings when our financial system in the process of collapsing. Apparently people jumped off buildings during the Great Depression…
