ESPN Names Canes 2nd Best Sports Franchise


Out of 122 professional sports franchises comprising the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the National Hockey League, and Major League Baseball, ESPN the Magazine says the Carolina Hurricanes are the second best overall and the top NHL franchise. The rankings are based on fan responses in eight different areas ranging from number of championships won to ticket and concession prices.

The Canes have landed some key offseason signings and promise to be competitive again next season on the heels of a deep playoff run in 2009.
