Anyone else catch the surreal theme of NCSU’s homecoming weekend “Operation Take Out Boston?” The uber-militaristic, extinction-of-liberty theme expressed at State’s parade—fraternity floats done up as military hardware, all gunning for Boston’s mascot—an eagle, usually depicted as an American Bald. Although I’m a State alum, The Eagles, I am happy to report, triumphed over the tanks. Who dreamed this one up? We send these kids to college or do they know something we don’t?
