Ever since the inaugural Raleigh Wide Open a few years ago, Fayetteville Street has become the home for every single street festival in Downtown. Now that the street is open from the Capitol Building to Progress Energy Performing Arts Center, the options for holding street festivals are endless.
The latest festival to hit Raleigh’s main street is First Night and this year will start at 5pm and last until midnight. The evening is full of various performers and activities at a lot of different venues in the downtown core surrounding Fayetteville Street including music at the Raleigh City Museum, talks at the Urban Design Center, concerts at local churches and the Progress Energy Center.

The evening will culminate in a set by local indie rockers Annuals on the Main Stage and will be followed by fireworks and the annual dropping of the Acorn.

Other downtown events include a cask night at The Raleigh Times, Bumble at the Bee at the Hive (upstairs at The Busy Bee Cafe), a parties at Deep South Bar, Fourteen Bar, Ess Lounge, Yarn at The Pour House, and more here.

First Night Raleigh New Years Eve
Thanks for the link to RaleighNYE.com, Jed! Hope everyone finds it useful ![]()
I’m going to add the Raleigh Times event now!
Does anyone know if you have to have an admission button just to be out on Fayetteville Street or the City Plaza? I thought the button was just for admission to “events” and not to get on the street itself? Someone just told me otherwise.
