Forum to Address Raleigh Drought Solutions

In light of the new year, and resolutions meant to bring about new habits, we at New Raleigh have focused on the issue of water a great deal, in particular the mayor’s not-so-well-received option.

A Green Solution for Drought: Rainwater Harvesting

January 23, 2008 4:00 pm to 6:00pm
Auditorium (3rd Floor) in NC Legislative Building, downtown Raleigh

This presentation will bring you a great opportunity for your daily practice to be a part of solution for the drought. Specific topics will include:

   * Current status of drought in North Carolina
   * Key policies to address the growing water demand
   * Rainwater harvesting design principles and guidelines
   * LEED Sustainable Sites and Water Efficiency credits
   * Lessons learned from the rainwater system installations
   * Occupant’s experience with rainwater harvesting system
   * Walking tour of up-and-running rainwater harvesting system
