Foundation Launches Website, Nears Opening

We announced back in September, that a new bar would be coming to the subterranean world of Fayetteville Street. In the past few weeks, their neon signage has been installed. Also, all of the chairs have been built from steel and wood and moved into in the space. Few details remain before opening and they are on track for a March (if not earlier) opening.

Their website has launched with minimal information but includes the second (opening date being first) most important piece of the puzzle, opening hours. Foundation will be a private club (because of the lack of food) and you can sign up on the website for your membership.

Hours
Sunday – Friday : 4 pm – 2 am
Saturday : 2 pm – 2 am

FOUNDATION
213 Fayetteville St
Suite 010
Raleigh, NC 27601

This should be a great addition to Fayetteville Street.  Makes me think of The Cave in Chapel Hill.

I am so freakin excited for this place!

It will be interesting to see how it shakes out as “private club”. Definitely a much needed addition for the area though.

The whole “private club” thing is stupid.  They should change or loosen that law and allow a zoning board to give out a limited number of permits in areas like glenwood south, hargett street, and the warehouse district for places with booze only.

I’m also very excited about the place.  The “private club” thing is no big deal.  Think of Landmark who is also a “private club”...it works just fine.  It isn’t like they ask a lot of you to be a “member”.  I think it is a great and creative way around a law that I agree with you is stupid.

Bring on the NC beers at the Foundation…I can’t wait!

I have a feeling that I won’t be able to afford this place.

Looks great should bring people downtown in the evenings..Now if someone could do something to bring people downtown in the afternoons that would fantastic too.

What do any of you know about Fayetteville Street Tavern?

  • CF02/04 10:44 AM

Fay St Tavern is a cool, laid back little bar w/ pretty decent food.  There’s a pool table, dart board…typical neighborhood bar type place.

Any idea when the foundation will open? Is it already open?
