Today Cricket Communications has sponsored a free fare day on Capital Area Transit and Durham Area Transit Authority buses. While the reality of the sponsorship is pandering burners to low income bus riders- its encouraging to see alternative transit being incorporated into local marketing efforts.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got on the bus this morning that I didn’t have to pay. There were about 10 people on this morning which is about 5 more than average!
I’ll take free bus ride sponsored by Cricket any day over a 2 mile drive to work in my car.

Also anyone with a NCSU or Meredith student ID can always ride the bus for free.
