Paste Magazine - Gears of War 2 11th Best Game of the Decade

Epic Games and Raleigh’s Cliff Bleszinski had a huge hit with the third person shoot-em-up video game Gears of War back in 2006. The much anticipated sequel (Gears of War 2) did even better and was a part of GamingSpark here in Raleigh.

Gears of War 2 has been rated the 11th best video game of the decade by Paste Magazine, calling it one of the “best videogame sequels ever released”. (Rampage World Tour would never win that award.) When the game was released, Paste gave it a 95 out of 100.

One of the most impressive videogame sequels ever released, Gears of War 2 elevated the already critically acclaimed franchise’s game in virtually every respect. Comic writer Josh Ortega helped Epic beef up the story. Designers worked tirelessly to make the gorgeous environments more varied.
