It has only been three year's since the Google car last toured Raleigh's streets at that time the Street View technology was the newest thing in their arsenal and a limited number of cities had the pictures. Since then there have been lawsuits, Germany required that all faces be blurred, and a whole host of other backlashes. But we all use this technology regularly- after all it is the best way to see a place you have never been before you get there.
Mark Turner tipped us off that he spotted the Google car cruising through east Raleigh and captured this great photo. Now we are hearing it was areound as early as Tuesday. Three years ago the car was unmarked but had a similarly goofy contraption of sensors, cameras that made it easily identifiable. Who knows, next time it will probably be one of those Google self-driving cars. What's next for Google to photograph in Raleigh? We know they also have a bicycle version of the device- so we will be looking for the Greenways.
Mow your lawns, dress your best, there is no hiding from the Google car. See you on Street View.
Has anyone else spotted the Google Car today?

i saw it yesterday by the legislative building.
I believe these guys saw the car too:

I saw it on SB Capital on Wednesday afternoon, just inside the beltline.
time to rock out with you cock out
or hen
I saw it Wed on Fayetteville street!
ROFL at the scuba divers
Saw it today
Saw it today near (and headed to) Marlborough Road, so I guess that street is going to appear bombed out from the tornado damage for three years on the Google.
I wonder if Google will offer a switch to review photos from the first street view a few years ago. The Google car caught me walking home and it would be cool to still access those photos.

I saw one last winter. Some of the views are much more recent than three years ago.
Yeah they are doing NYC right now too. Guess what - they will always be doing this.
Passed the Google Maps car on Atlantic Ave. today near the Boy Scout office. Wonder how long it takes them to cover the entire city?
Doesn’t anyone see that this is just WRONG? I mean whats next, WiFi sniffing? Oh wait, they are doing THAT also!
