Hank Williams has been booking and promoting hardcore and punk shows in some of the cities venues (Slims, Volume 11) and various houses for a few years now. For this show, Williams brings some noteable hardcore bands, local and international, to The Pour House May 14th. On Thursday night, 4 bands will thrash the night away.
Crude are in the US as a result of the Chaos in Tejas Festival, which is held every May in Austin, Texas. This fest brings international hardcore bands together from all over the place. As an incentive, the promoter of the festival books these visiting groups a 2-3 week tour of the US while they are here. Crude is one of more notable bands from the Japanese hardcore/punk scene.
Unit 21 is from Texas and the band that is joining Crude on their US Tour. Unit 21 is one of the better American bands heavily influenced by Japanese hardcore. They do their influences justice, to say the least.
Shards evoke an early 80’s California style of punk, with lead singer William Evans leading the charge with an intimidating prowl and aggressive growl which some have compared to Darby Crash. Shards’ two available cassette EPs offer differences in production, showing the versatility this band is capable of. Their sound does its best to give you the aural business.
Plague features two members of Shards and Williams himself, along with Tooth guitarist Rich James. Plague bring a COC-esque assault to the ears. If you missed them at Slims last week, well, don’t miss them this time.

I thought Double Negative were playing this show. What gives?
