Cafe Helios Time Lapse Video

Ever wonder how Cafe Helios, voted one of the best coffee shops in Raleigh, performs during a full day of business? Fresh off of its new makeover and menu, the above video gives the pleasure of watching the cafe’s crowd from a bird’s eye view, all day long.

This is part of a group web project that we did for studio, studying the cafe environment.

It’s a 10fps time-lapse showing a complete day at Helios cafe (6:30-11:30); 800 frames shot at 80 second intervals.

Is it merely coincidental that I pitched doing this to Helios ages ago as part of their website makeover? Or maybe the fantastic light gave someone else the same idea. Speaking of which, is it just me or is the saturation completely washed out? Overcast weather?

I love the slideset/video! I’m guessing the color is the result of a lens or else a treatment added when the whole was edited and finished.

It gives a really atmospheric feeling to my favorite cafe; the best part is the end, where you can see the crowds disperse and the clean-up going on. Needs music.

    Awesome!
