Help CyTunes

The idea is fairly simple: Bands create songs solely for CyTunes.org in the hopes to raise money. Studios volunteer their spaces to record songs exclusive to this charitable cause. For more information, please visit CyTunes.org. The website is still in the planning stages and details are scarce.  Desolation Row, located in Raleigh’s Five-Points area, is participating in the project.  Desolation Row is run by Greg Elkins, a staple of the music scene in Raleigh with his current project, Starmount, not to mention is his other endeavors (Vanilla Trainwreck, The Devil, recording practically every band that’s come out of Raleigh within the past 10 years…)

Its also not a bad idea to look into some upcoming shows that will also benefit Cy Rawls.  The one from Slims this past Friday raised around $1,500.  Another show has been scheduled at Slims.  On August 23rd, The Magic Babies and Violet Vector & the Lovely Lovelies will perform.  Local 506 in Chapel Hill also has a few benefits lined up.

Keep abreast of all things Cy on his blog, now featuring updates from the man himself.
