Is there no heaven in this unusual economy? Hereghty Heavenly Delicious has a notice of lease default on the door and has been locked out of the Glenwood Village location. The website has an undated message saying “Please note, the store is closed for inventory and business reorganization.” Is this a case of too little too late or will the patisserie manage to reopen? I know my sweet tooth has high hopes that Raleigh’s premier patisserie can resolve this issue. We have emailed the company and will update with any further information.

oh no! i hope this is temporary- hereghty is one of my favorite spots in town.
I always look forward to getting my oil changed at GV Exxon because it provides me with a nice 45-minute break to go hang out at Hereghty. I’m due for an oil change but I’ll put my car in danger a little longer in the hope that Hereghty opens back up soon.
This makes me sad - I only went in once or twice, but both times there I’m pretty sure the owner or manager must have been the person behind the counter and he was SO nice. Everyone there was always top notch.
I am surprised any of you can actually get food. The reason they probably defaulted is because patrons, for the last 6 months, have been greeted with empty shelves or closed doors during its scheduled hours.
I’ve been there twice during the past two months…Shut and locked, with absolutely no explanation on the door except the posted hours which said they should be open.
This is surely a sign of the times. Back in December, I passed a high end floral shop in Westwood, CA with the same kind of notice. The store wasn’t all that old either. Hereghty’s was my daughter’s favorite bakery. She even treated her dad to a selection of pastries on his birthday. Very, very sad to see a new favorite go (and we’re just getting over the demise of Enocata Vin).
the reason there’s been no food for months is that the chef disapeared at the end of 2008 according to a former employee. the manager has tried to keep it afloat but the economy, especially in that neighborhood!, has less to do with it than bizarre circustances.
maybe this is old news… but it is good news!
hereghty is back open and will be serving lunch again starting next week- when i went in today they said they’d probably start lunch on tuesday.
the vibe was as classy and sweets as delicious as it was before closing.
