On March 14th, Legacy Event Planners will be hosting a green arts and music festival to celebrate the upcoming revival of Hillsborough Street. The ten-hour festival will kick off the construction of new roundabouts on Hillsborough Street, aimed at making this key artery a more navigable and pedestrian friendly road. In addition to bringing attention to the need for a better streetscape across from NC State campus, the community festival will be raising money for local non-profits focused on renewable energy research, sustainable development, and community improvement.

The all day festival will feature local bands, including Murphy’s Kids, Inflowential, Brooks Wood Band, Wrecking Season, Zegg, Milagro Saints, and Relic Revival. There will also be an organic chef cook-off, barbecue cook-off, an alternative fuel vehicle showcase, tons of street vendors, activities for the kids, and the REdress Raleigh green fashion show. The green fashion show will include the latest from twenty different local designers, using everything from natural dyes, reconstructed and recycled clothing, organic materials, and more…
