In case you weren’t excited by the few Hopscotch Fest preview shows we posted a few weeks ago, we have the full schedule below for your gushing pleasure. The Hopscotch Music Festival will take over downtown Sept. 9-11, 2010 with 120 bands in 10 venues over three days with music ranging from rock, hip-hop, alt-country, heavy metal, dance, punk, classical, noise, drone, folk and more.
Seeing this lineup, we are getting very excited about three days of music in downtown. As well, there have been a handful of day shows organized by a few local outlets. We’ll let you know more about those soon as well and give a rundown of all the day shows once they are all finalized.
It will be hard to choose between a handful of shows each night that will be happening at the same time, but the good thing about having festival passes is that you can bounce around from venue to venue, creating your own night of music. The walking distance between the venues that are the furthest away from each other is a total of 0.6 miles which is easily walkable between set changes. Also, the City Plaza shows will start early and will end around 10pm, meaning that you’ll be able to see music from 5pm until bands stop playing at the venues both Friday and Saturday night. And with a bunch of free day parties, the music could start at noon on Saturday and not end until 2am on Sunday. This could be a serious weekend of fantastic music that will definitely put Hopscotch and Raleigh “on the map”.
Head over to the Hopscotch Music Fest website where they will be posting the full rundown on the times of each show. (or scroll down to the bottom of this article for the grids)

Hopscotch Music Festival Indy Week
Every show is at the same time. That is weird.
ive only heard of broken social scene and megafaun out of that entire list, and i never even listened to those two. i know im not mr indie music, but seriously?
Not all music festivals are set up that way. Goner Fest in Memphis organizes their schedule so you can see every band if you so choose. Granted they usually have a line up of 40 or so bands, but your ticket dollar goes a lot further. I know that there are “parties” planned during the day, but I’m hoping that next year’s festival is spread out at least with official fest shows during the day on at least Saturday.
war on drugs is going to be awesome.
Looks like I will be camped out at Kings on Friday and Saturday. Not sure what to do with my Thursday. May just take the train to Charlotte and see the Pixies and Fuck Buttons instead.
Woah - Best Coast, Cults, Collections of Colonies of Bees, and Gray Young at Tir Na Nog on Thursday.
Question for people in the know. Can we buy individual club tickets or are we required to buy ticket packages? Can only go tonight and was hoping to drop into Kings after Panda but don’t have a wristband. Thanks.
JT#2 - you can buy your way into individual venues if they have space to accommodate you, but I think it’s $20 cover to get into any one club.
@ Stacey…thanks!
