In what may be the biggest announcement in retail of 2009, the Lego Store is coming to Crabtree Valley Mall. Lego is bringing a 2,000 square foot store, the first of its kind in the Carolinas, to open in May.
New Raleigh will be building a lego model of downtown. Retail spaces on Fayetteville Street will be offered at discounted rates.

Hell, yeah!!!!!
Awesome!!! Now I wish I was about 20 years older. I would so want a birthday party there!
Now that’s plastic shattering news!
This is one of those kinds of stores that will get a lot of geek traffic initially and then flop before the end of the year. I could be majorly underestimating the appeal of overpriced plastic bricks being sold at mall-scale profit margins, but I expect that store to be vacant relatively quickly.
NO this store WON’T be a flop! Anyone who’s ever been to a Lego Store knows that. Well, except the Lego Store in Tysons Corner in VA who’s downfall was that it is a clearance store. Lego Store prices aren’t any higher than discount stores. Even in it’s MEGA STORE in Downtown Disney Marketplace (Orlando) the prices are the same as Target/Wal Mart. Be a believer! WELCOME LEGO!
I emailed lego asking to build a store here,
maybe that helped
now this is a destination mall store.
after all the banter about what sort of shops should be in the “People’s Living Room,” this shows why it can’t be something as primo as a Lego Store - they’re using 2,000 square ft in Crabtree. There’s only 1,000 sq ft in “the Living Room”‘s barely bigger than a kiosk spaces.
The Lego store at Disney in Orlando ROCKS!!!!! We can’t wait for this one to open.
