Leukemia and Lymphoma Benefit Concert at Slim’s

Slim’s Downtown Distillery, located at 227 South Wilmington Street in downtown Raleigh, will hold a concert benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society this Sunday, Sept. 23 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Donations will be collected at the door and 100 percent of the proceeds raised at the concert will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Guests attending the event will include survivors of leukemia and lymphoma, triangle community members and volunteers for the cause.

Local bands including: The Motion, Dakota Darling, Silver and Man in the Shower are schedule to play at the event.  Free parking will be provided at the Morgan Street parking deck located downtown Raleigh.  For more information on the concert please contact Ryan Coyle at

Man in The Shower: 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Silver: 2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
Dakota Darling: 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The Motion: 4:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.

Three Raleigh women, (Ryan Coyle, Erin Fish, Krystal Twiford) have been training for three months with Team in Training to run a half marathon in San Fran for the cause on October 21st, 2007.  Together, they will raise over $12,000 for The Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.

There will be raffle tickets for sale at the benefit as well. Very generous and talented people donated their skills to help with this raffle.  Raffle tickets are $10 for 1 or $20 for 3.

After the benefit consider checking out the local films at Moore Square starting at 8 p.m.
