First music returns to Seaboard and now a small farmers a market is in the works. It appears that local farmers are preparing to step up and help fill the void left in Seaboard Station by the closing of Capital City Grocery. This new market in combination with the other established farmers markets, not only demonstrates that local food is in demand, but hopefully forecasts that the days of factory farms are coming to a close. We received the following tip from a much-appreciated reader this morning:
Local Produce Coming To
Seaboard Station This Saturday!
Starting Saturday May 9th from 8:00am-4:00pm, there will be a local
farmer parked adjacent to Seaboard Imports on Seaboard Avenue, near
Logan’s Training Company, selling locally grown produce. To be expanded
over the course of the summer to include more farmers.
Considering you could never manage a full grocery trip at Capital City Grocery anyways, this deal sounds as sweet as a juicy tomato.
