Lonnie Walker With Lake Inferior

Just a reminder that Lonnie Walker and Lake Inferior are playing this week’s free show at Tir Na Nog as part of WKNC’s Local Beer Local Band night.

I’ve never seen either band, but Lonnie Walker has been causing some stir, especially since being recognized in the sixth edition of Great 8. Initially a one-man band in Greenville, front man Brian Corum recruited classmates through auditions and was signed to Raleigh’s Terpsikhore Records. Next week, they will be in Austin as part of SxSW.

Lake Inferior is a five piece band out of Chapel Hill. They signed on with the student-run label Vinyl Records in 2008 and quickly released their self-titled EP. You can hear Spiders from their EP here.
