wow! I wonder where she got the money to hire that spewer of hydrocarbons for the weekend? note the oak leaf in her logo..hahaha.
One would expect more from a “marketing and communications professional with more than 25 years of experience” (via her website).
There’s truth in advertising…
another quote from MAB on this issue:
“We also need to invest in our transportation systems to maintain our quality of life. Like many other people, I moved to Raleigh from a large urban area that suffered from major traffic congestion. During my career here, I’ve commuted to and from the Research Triangle Park . And I’ve worked in the transportation industry for the past four years – so I understand our challenges on many fronts. Funding new roadways is only one solution to the problem. We also need to take a fresh look at transit on a local and regional basis. That fresh look requires vision, imagination and an ability to look into the future. With my background, I feel I can bring knowledge that will help us develop solutions and build consensus on transit.“
hmmm….
haha, wow. thats just a moving target for whatever i’ve got in my hand (tomatoes?)
You can tell so much about a candidate from their signage and advertising. Up along Capital Boulevard, every shopping center and commercial strip mall had a slew of Mary Ann Baldwin and Jessie Taliaferro signs.
Meanwhile, when you actually see a sign in someone’s front yard, it’s for Russ Stephenson or Rodger Koopman. Go Russ!! Go Rodger!!
^I’ve noticed the same thing, Betsy.
(I’d put Craven in the shopping center camp too, with McFarlane in the house side as well.)
It’s actions like this that make Mary look kinda bit like an attention-whore, in my honest opinion.
It’s funny. The only other advertisement truck like this I have seen downtown recently is one that is advertising a Halloween Costume Shop.
Oh the irony.
Unfortunately, I’m afraid that this kind of advertisement - bombarding every intersection, shopping center, gas station, etc. - is what the average joe pays attention to. So *if* they even go to vote, they vote for that familiar name…possibly without regard for what they actually stand for.
GO HELEN TART!!!!
Yikes. I must object to the use of the word “whore” to label a woman running for public office. I mean, *yikes*.
^I apologize, although honestly I’d truly say the same thing about a man…I’m an equal-opportunity insulter.
(That term usually implies something less misogynistic and more about one’s desperate attempts at attention.)
Perhaps “Attention-Sell-out”, “Attention-Junkie” or maybe even “Attention-Drama-Queen” would be more sensitive.
