Stephen Merritt has a handful of side projects, solo projects and just plain fun projects but the one he is known for since 1991 is The Magnetic Fields. He will bring his 69 Love Songs and more lyrically laced 80s synth-pop to Meymandi Concert Hall on October 18th. You too can be the luckiest guy on the lower east side….of Downtown Raleigh.
Merritt and crew will only play 11 dates (currently) on their North American trek. Raleigh is very lucky to be one of them.
Sign up for their fan club and presale tickets here starting NOW or wait until most good seats are gone (looks like up to row E is already gone) and buy them here.

I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off. This is awesome.
Saw them perform the whole of 69 Love Songs (2 nights) at Lincoln Center a few years ago. Stellar. I haven’t been able to get into the new CD (yet), because my love for 69 Love Songs is supreme, but I’ll do my best now that I know they’ll be in the neighborhood.
Ayse,
I couldn’t agree with you more. I once challenged some co-workers to make a 18of69lovesongs playlist (in order) and we would compare. They never did it.
