Mapping the Virginia Earthquake on Twitter

When I felt ground rumbling a couple of weeks ago, I pulled out my phone, and sure enough, within a minute, my Facebook feed exploded with status updates like "I just felt my first earthquake!!!" East coasters are certainly used to hurricanes, but we're totally unaccustomed to earthquakes.

SocialFlow, a media optimization group in New York City, actually tracked -- and mapped -- the outbreak of Earthquake news using Twitter. You'll need Firefox or Google Chrome browser in order to view the animation, but it's definitely worth checking out, here.
